Tonic Living is looking for a full-time:

Lead Design & Sales Consultant

The role: The Lead Design & Sales Consultant is the primary point of contact for Trade clients. You will be responsible for the Trade Client relationships where you will provide advice on product pairings, keep them up to date with Tonic product offerings and oversee that their involvement with our brand is nothing but seamless and smooth! 

The setting: You will be in a mixed retail and office environment where you will have a private office with a view of the store where you will also work with clients and walk-in customers. Our East York headquarters once a factory from the ’60s is now converted to a 10,000-square-foot space where we manufacture our products in, warehouse, and ship the orders from as well as where all creative content is staged and photographed. The front portion of the space that faces the street, with loads of natural light and living plants is where the retail space is that you would be working from.

You: You are an enthusiastic people person with an innate passion for home decor, textiles, interior design, and decorating. You can effortlessly pair, curate, match, and present complimentary fabric and or pillow combinations and create mood boards. You do this stuff in your sleep! You are empathetic and can easily imagine yourself in other people’s shoes. You value integrity and genuine connections and you’ve learned this through other life and work experiences.

You’re quick on your feet, a do-er, you’re self-guided and independent but thrive in team settings. You are proactive. You recognize a problem and you tackle it sooner than later with the wisdom to prioritize accordingly. 

You’re a good-humored individual who can give and take feedback in multiple social dynamics and settings - you know how to make people feel at ease.You’re not shy, you are energized by interactions with others and enjoy it because you like people! 

The requirements: You’re strong in interior decorating and design either through education or through work experience (minimum of 3 years). You are not intimidated by computers and the relevant programs that we use for our workflow (Google Workspace, Shopify, Asana, Slack). 

You have at least 2 years of experience in a retail, customer-facing environment (preferably in the industry) and you thrive with the feeling of helping others when you know the work you are doing is making someone else's life brighter, lighter and happier. 

The company: Founded in 2004, Tonic Living is family owned and operated business that employs a small team of 25 fantastic people that make up a positive, kind, and upbeat environment.
